Welcome to your mother’s arms, Mack Zachary! He weighed in at 10lb 8oz and is measuring up to be a giant sweetheart!
Let’s talk about his mama… her energy was always relaxed, confident, and determined. Progress slowed during labor, but she sat herself down at the kitchen table to eat a full meal at 9cm dilation, and we continued. (Walk, squat, sip on water, walk, squat …and repeat!) This crossfit woman is a powerhouse, and her big boy is so lucky she’s his.
Welcome Earthside, Isaac Bryan! He was born in his family’s living room, welcomed by his siblings, and has been grinning since. Isaac weighed a healthy 8lb 10oz, with dimples, and kissable cheeks, and adorable chins.
His mother is a repeat client for me, from back in the day when I was a wee midwifery student. Our last baby together was born during a February blizzard, and Isaac arrived over a Strawberry Moon!
Hello, sweet Aubrianna Kensleigh! She was born under water, to a proud mother, and weighed 7lb 6oz.
Her labor was smooth, although it began with strength waking up her mama from a restful night’s sleep. She rocked on an exercise ball, found relaxation in the tub, walked around outside, and even napped in bed – an effective circuit, supported and encouraged by her doula. Y’all, this was a great birth!
Jude Jonan arrived on April 27, 2017 in the early morning hours, after we all spent the night waiting to meet him. He was born in his parents’ bed, caught by his father, weighing 8lb 9oz.
I have loved caring for his mother; she did not have a pleasant birth experience with her first baby, and was determined to find a provider who listened to her this time. May we all be supported and trusted to make healthcare choices for ourselves!
Welcome, Truitt Paul! This little dinosaur was born during a warm Spring evening, on April 17, 2017.
His parents are new to the area, and it has been such a joy visiting with and caring for this first time mama. We all watched episodes of The Office during labor, and wouldn’t you know it, this baby was born on the bathroom floor. (I caught him, don’t worry!) I’m thankful they asked for my help, but really, Truitt’s birth was an “easy” work day.
Welcome to the World, Jules Marie! We met this concert-loving sweetheart on March 18, 2017 with the assistance of a skilled physician. We needed a little extra help in addition to our home birth team, and the first words this woman said to her hospital nurse were, “Can I give you a hug?”
Her mother triumphed through a few days of start and stop labor, and was rewarded with a vigorous 7lb 3oz baby girl who was born into her father’s hands. A gentle, and empowering birth!
Joy Helen was born on a warm evening in March, after a tranquil labor, and weighed 8lb 1oz. Her mother asked for peace with each wave, and that feeling was certainly WOmanifested.
When talking with Joy’s mama about her birth, she remembered thinking, “Oh, I guess I should catch her now!” after surprising herself with how quickly she arrived. A slow delivery of the baby’s head is a healthy transition for them both, but the body can come much faster!
